About Farhana Hemming

I Graduated from the Memphis College of Art with my second bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and have been working as a full time artist ever since.

My water colors stem from a centuries old style of Moghul Miniatures (same dynasty that built the Taj Mahal in Agra), as well as influences of the Pre-Raphaelites, Arts and Crafts and Art Deco artists such as Rossetti, Burne-Jones, Voysey, Macintosh, Bakst, and Paul Irebe. As miniatures were done with 24 karat gold, I had to research and develop my own technique in order to achieve the similar effect of gold coloring. My technique has since evolved and has developed further into metallics.

* My artwork should be kept away from strong light direct sunlight and moisture.
